Your rights at work

There's a rumour going round that the Sydney Radical Cheerleaders will be supporting workers 'rights against the IR reforms known as WorkChoices. Workchoices in Australia takes away a lot of the protections against unfair treatment in the workplace. It will make women especially vulnerable and also limits access to unions when things are going wrong. For example, under WorkChoices it is llegal for union reps to approach people without prior consent of the bosses.
National Day of Action is this Thursday, 30 November from 8.30 AM. The weblink has lots more info about the law changes, and what they mean.

Cheerleaders coming at ya

On the big day the Sydney squad braved the drizzle and got out there amongst it. The Walk Against Warming had between 10,000 people (Channel 7), 12,000 people (ABC) and 30,000 people (organisers). And we did our darndest to cheer on everyone's efforts - they seemed to like it too. Hey people - you rock!
